Lifeless

OK so I wrote this poem February 28, 2007. It was on my MySpace blog but I wanted to post it on here to make sure that I don't loose it. This poem holds a special place in my heart, for those of you who don't know my Mom passed away July 3, 2005. I was 19. I still can not believe its been over 3 years!!!!! I miss her just as much now as ever and I still think about her every day but it hurts less and less to think about her as time goes by. =)

WHAT I WOULDN'T GIVE
TO HOLD YOU NEAR,
TO FEEL YOU BREATHE AGAIN;
I NEED YOU NOW,
LIKE I NEEDED YOU THEN.

HOW I REMEMBER THAT
WARM SUNNY DAY,
AND THE COLD COLD WATER
THAT FIERCELY TOOK YOU AWAY

YOU WENT HOW ANYONE SHOULD GO,
SURROUNDED BY FAMILY,
PEOPLE WHO CHERISHED YOU SO.

YOU WERE RIPPED OUT OF THIS WORLD
A ROSE BUD YET TO BLOOM
SO MUCH LEFT FOR YOU TO LIVE FOR
SO MUCH FOR YOU TO DO

YOU WERE MOTHER, DAUGHTER, SISTER, WIFE,
A SHOULDER TO CRY ON.

STRONG WORDS TO COMFORT,
YOU LOVED WITH SUCH A PASSION;
AND COULD MOVE MOUNTAINS,
WITH YOUR DETERMINATION.

SUCH LOVE FOR THIS LIFE
NO ONE HAD AS MUCH AS YOU

NOW WE ARE LEFT

WITH OUT YOUR WISE WORDS TO HEAR,
WITH OUT YOUR SMILE
SO BRIGHT, SO GRACIOUS, SO ASTONISHING.

WHAT WAS ONCE SO FULL OF LIFE
NOW LAY IN THE GROUND
MOTIONLESS, BREATHLESS, LIFELESS

That is absolutely beautiful! It made me cry. I don't know why I had never read that on your myspace blog. I can't imagine the pain of losing your mom, but like I said before I can pretty much gurantee that she would be so proud of the woman you have become! I Love you Shannon! And anything you ever need, I am here.
